Description
Mario Andretti Racing for the Sega Genesis. Awarded Driver of the Quarter-Century, Mario Andretti teamed up with Electronic Arts and Stormfront Studios to produce this racing game right around the time of his retirement. Composed of 15 different tracks, Mario Andretti Racing features sprint, stock, and Indy cars and tracks. You can practice, qualify, or race against other cars in single race mode, or you can race in a circuit or begin a racing career. The latter two modes of play let you strengthen your car and pit crew with money used from winning races.
Speaking of the pit crew, it’s a good idea to make a pit stop when your car is running low on fuel or when your tires are worn. In each version of this game you can choose from several different camera angles which include nose cam, chase car cam, overhead map, rear view mirror, competitor view, and full or split screen. There are only three different car body styles (one for each racing mode), but each car has nine different “equipment packages” and can be driven by nine different drivers, each with varying skills. If you need some assistance from the racing legend himself, you can practice race using on screen advice from Mario Andretti.
