Product Information
Your name? John Spartan of the Los Angeles Police Department. The date is August 21, 1996. You’ve been assigned to capture the extremely dangerous Simon Phoenix, wanted for murder, assault, grand theft and a host of other crimes too numerous to mention. You must stop him at all costs!
Demolition Man for the Genesis is based on 1993’s movie of the same name, starring Sylvester Stallone as Spartan and Wesley Snipes as Phoenix. The game consists of ten missions that all involve trying to capture the elusive Simon Phoenix. Just like the film, you’ll begin the game in 1996, but you’ll continue your pursuit 36 years later in what is now known as San Angeles (your character has been “frozen” thanks to the magic of cryogenics).
Players will be able to use an assortment of weapons during the game, including three different guns (pistol, shotgun and magnum) and two types of grenades (hand and flare). Other items available are medi-packs to replenish health, infrared goggles, extra lives, body armor, and freeze vials to stop enemies dead in their tracks.
The ten levels in Demolition Man are played using one of two perspectives: the five outdoor missions are traditional side-scrolling levels, whereas the five indoor missions adopt a top-down view. Shoot and blast your way past enemy thugs trying to hurt you, but make sure you don’t harm innocent civilians or the game will end! Three options of play (calm, crazed or total demolition) are available for players to customize the game’s level of difficulty.
